OUR PROJECT
For the topic of our Girl Scout Silver Award Project, we have decided to re-map the birkeways of Cranford and inform the public about its importance. In the Girl Scouts of the USA, the Silver Award is the second highest award below the Gold Award, and the objective of this project is to inform ourselves and others about a topic that we care about. We started off our project by mapping the Cranford bikeways and labeling important parks and their features using an application called Scribble Maps. This application is easy to read and navigate, but most importantly, we are able to attach the map to the Cranford website so that everyone can access it. Once the bikeways were mapped, we then biked all of the bikeways and made note of any places that could use improvement. We reported this information to Lieutenant Davenport of the Cranford Traffic Department to give the police an idea of how to repair the bikeways to make them safer and easier to navigate.
ABOUT US
Our names are Ariadne, Elaina and Tess, and we are a part of Girl Scout Cadette Troop 40534. We have all been participating in Girl Scouts since we were kindergarteners at Brookside Place School, and we are now eighth graders at Orange Avenue School. We all enjoy Girl Scout activities such as camping and earning badges, and we also enjoy participating in other pastimes such as music and art. We are very excited to be working on our Silver Award Project and to make a difference in Cranford.
